Creating opportunities for children and youth to help them fulfil their potential

Issues like poor health and wellbeing, lack of education, training and social support affect the lives of too many young Australians, making them particularly vulnerable to disengaging from school, work and social life. The Smith Family tells us that not all children get an equal start and today, one in ten Australian children are living in jobless families, where even life’s basics are hard to come by.

The flow on effects of growing up in this environment place a significant hindrance on young people when it comes to education, employment, and harnessing opportunities into adult life. The Foundation works alongside our community partners to create opportunities for children and youth to keep them engaged in school, work and life.
